Due a recent major investment to this company involved in the design & manufacture of innovative motor drive systems for the automotive industry, they now require an experienced Purchasing Professional to establish and manage the supply base. As the client is currently taking prototype designs into production they are looking for someone with experience of working in a manufacturing start-up environment within the automotive industry (OEM or Tier 1) together with knowledge of electronics equipment/systems manufacturing.
The role will involve supplier selection, contracts negotiations (within prototype and volume supply phases), establishing supply contracts (including low cost country options), global logistics co-ordination (supply and delivery) and man management.
You will have a background in purchasing and supply chain within an engineering environment with an analytical and team oriented approach. Overseas travel will be required within this role.
