Assystem UK as the Master Vendor to a Global Vehicle manufacturer based in Bedfordshire is seeking to recruit Buyers to work in its European Purchasing Operations. These are challenging roles within a multicultural, flexible and dynamic environment. Working within a global purchasing organisation, these Buyers roles will involve Management of Supplier relationships and cost reduction activity to achieve challenging targets. building effective internal and external relationships
Buyers will be required to Manage the Request for Quotation Process, to support supplier selection decision making
Buyers to Investigate new supply markets, including travel to assess Suppliers capability. Achievement of demanding cost reduction targets, through identification and delivery of both commercial and technical cost reduction ideas.
Maintaining databases to track cost status and mainframe systems for purchase order maintenance. Skills: Buyers will need to be team players with a proactive attitude, able to work within deadlines and deliver under pressure.
Numerate with strong analytical skills and an ability to demonstrate negotiation skills. MS Office computer skills
Buyers will have a positive approach to travel (world-wide)
Opportunities may exist for working in other global regions during your career. Education: Degree level or equivalent Salary: c. 30,000 to 40,000+, plus benefits including paid overtime and after qualifying period: healthcare / pension / car scheme. Relocation package also available
