Description
A leading engineering company are looking for a Proposals Engineer to manage their commercial department.
Reporting to the Process Manager, the Proposals Engineer will be responsible for preparing water and wastewater tenders, quotations and framework proposals for the Integrated Solutions Group.
The main responsibilities are:-
- To receive enquiries and tender documents and agree with Sales Manager on the priorities of bidding.

Reporting to the Process Manager, the Proposals Engineer will be responsible for preparing water and wastewater tenders, quotations and framework proposals for the Integrated Solutions Group.
The main responsibilities are:-
- To receive enquiries and tender documents and agree with Sales Manager on the priorities of bidding.
- Interpret potential customers' requirements and work with the Process Manager to select suitable processes and products from portfolio together with suitable ancillary items.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to establish the costs and key design parameters for the selected equipment.
- Prepare a tender document for submission to the customer which outlines both commercial and technical aspects of the company's offer. Submit detailed technical specification and cost schedule for all tenders and submit to Process Manager to agree final tender price.
- Review orders technically and commercially and issue an internal manufacturing specification of the equipment being supplied.
- Provide technical backup for the sales department as requested.
- Attend occasional liaison meeting/site visits with potential clients.
Experience, qualifications and skills required:-
- Wastewater process knowledge
- HND/HNC or equivalent
- Estimating
- IT literate
- Good communication skills
- Team player, self motivated
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Working as a member of a team, to give support wherever required within the organisation in keeping with your skills and experience.
