Seeking a Proposals Buyer to support the Proposals Team.

My client provides an extensive product range including: Geared Motors, Gearboxes, Servo Geared Motors, Large Industrial Gearing Products as well as Worm Gears, Industrial Transmissions, Defence Transmissions and Marine Transmissions.

Seeking a Proposals Buyer to support the Proposals Team.

Principal Purpose of Role:
To support the Proposals Team in preparation of bids by obtaining quotations for raw materials, bought out finished parts and services to the required quality, cost and to agreed dates.

Key Accountabilities•
-Obtaining quotations to suit Project requirements.
-Placing advance purchase orders to suit time constraints.•
-Responsible for ensuring that materials and bought out finished parts are available to the requirements of the Project.•
-Responsible for monitoring the performance of your supply base.•
-Introducing new more cost / service competitive suppliers.

Knowledge and Experience•
- Modern purchasing techniques.
- Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing techniques and business systems.
- Knowledge of purchasing systems (SAP preferable)
-Two years in a purchasing or materials management role is desirable.

Dimensions•
Responsible for purchasing support within a team which targets £10 million of new business per year.•
Normally UK remit, but a willingness to travel abroad occasionally as required•
