Description
An Immediate opportunity has arisen within the Gas Turbine Section of our clients Technical Support Group. Which consists of dedicated professionals who can provide multi-disciplined capability for a verity of Gas Turbines from overhaul and inspection through to refurbishment and commissioning, this backed up by a large and extensive workshop facility at Ferrybridge.
The Gas Turbine Section travel extensively throughout the UK and Overseas working on industrial Gas Turbines from a verity of manufacturers. From time to time the Gas Turbine Project Manager maybe expected to work closely with the Site Projects team depending on work load between both sections.
The Project Manager reports to the Gas Turbine Services Manager and will be responsible for the management a number of Projects running in parallel with specific responsibility for ensuring completion of the agreed work scope to programme, safety, quality standards and budget in accordance with company policy and client specified project requirements.
Job Specification:
The successful candidate will:
•Actively promote a safety culture within the site team
•Liaise with the customer to fully understand and agree the requirements of the Project
•Set the goals of the Project
•Have an in depth understanding of each of the roles within the Section and the Project team
•Form, organise, lead and motivate the team to meet the objectives of the project
•Set the standards for the Project and ensure that they are adhered to.
•Effectively manage the roles within the team to maximise effort and efficiency within the planned restraints of the Project
•Actively pursue improvements to procedures and policy and ensure that agreed policies and procedures are followed
•Apply commercial acumen to all projects to maximise income and profitability
•Comply with the Finance procedures.
•Produce and manage cost estimates for Projects
•Set and manage the Project budget, track project costs
•Provide the Section Manger with an updated Task Tracker report at an agreed time each month for each of the assigned Projects
•Manage the recruitment and organisation of resources for each project
•Promote and develop the team on job training
•Set and agree performance targets for staff
•Carry out performance assessments and agree Personal Development Plans of staff.
•Ensure that HR policies are followed
•Agree the technical standards for the project
•Manage the requirements of the TSG QA system to ensure compliance to the standards of ISO 9002.
•Manage the raising of contract variations and ensure confirmed agreement before the work is carried out
•Ensure that reports are comprehensive and accurate
•Ensure final reports are delivered to the customer within a pre agreed timescale
•Act as the TSG representative and be the principle contact with the customer on all issues of the contract.
•Identify and promote new business opportunities for TSG.
•Work closely with Business Development and marketing in the promotion of new business.

Person Specification
The successful applicant should be:
•Have experience of managing large projects ideally in the Gas Turbine activities
•Qualified to HNC or above in a relevant engineering discipline
•An effective leader with proven ability in motivating a team
•Proactive and highly self motivated
•A good communicator
•Able to perform well under pressure
•Have high level of man management skills
•Have a high level of Business acumen
•Ideally possess a relevant Project Management Qualification (APMP or Qualified to practitioner level).
