Project Support Engineer

LOCATION: FILTON, BRISTOL, SOUTH, SOUTH WEST
SALARY: £25PH LTD.
HOURS: 35 PER WEEK

Project Support Engineer responsible for the provision of project management support to the engineering team in Fuel R&T

1.)Establishment and maintenance of project plans and schedules
2.)Establishment of project budgets and tracking of spend against budget
3.)Monitoring of resources allocated to the project in terms of headcount and bookings

Key figures / Dimensions responsible for the provision of project management support to the engineering team in Fuel R&T

Remarks and Major Problems to be solved in the position:

Major end results your support shall enable the project to be delivered to time, quality and cost

Main accountabilities and deliverables:
Schedule:
establishment and maintenance of project plans and schedules working very closely with the engineering teams to ensure a good quality plan is developed and agreed track progress of milestone achievement against plan working with the engineering teams to ensure schedule adherence ensure an agreed recovery plan with the engineering teams and programme management for any missed milestones report progress against the plan in a format and frequency to be agreed with your line management
Costs:
Support the preparation of Statements of Work (SoWs) by the engineering teams. These can range from small scale micro-projects to SoWs that encompass an entire fuel system development programme for a new aircraft.
In tandem with the SoW preparation, support the development of project budgets for both manhours and direct costs Ensure costs are collected correctly and accurately. Ensure these costs can be reported to your stakeholders in potentially multiple formats to show spend trends against the budget etc Maintain the cost booking code system for the project Ensure a good working relationship is developed with the Airbus UK Planning and Control department to support the Airbus Operational Plan (AOP) process which includes estimating costs, development of budgets and responses to budget challenges, e.g. Power8
Resources:
Support the engineering teams development of resource plans, usually through the SoW development process, but in any other ways that may occur As required, maintain an up to date list of resources booking to the project. This shall encompass all resources and not just those engineering staff directly on the project team

Other:
Support the fuel domain EDYUII departments initiatives to improve project management delivery. This shall include deployment of new tools where appropriate and sharing of best practice with your other PSE colleagues Support the risk management process as required Be a flexible, proactive and supportive member of the team, helping the engineering effort to deliver the project to time, cost and quality.
