First class career opportunities now exist for you to join this successful Swiss thermal waste management company which provide combustion energy recovery, flue gas scrubbing and residue processing. The company has concluded that the UK will provide the main basis for further expansion and they are now in the process of setting up a new division in Crawley, West Sussex where they have vacancies for Project Planners/Schedulers.
As Project Planner/Scheduler you will have the ability to independently develop a co-ordinated time schedule for the plant using P3 or programming similar package. You will prepare the pre as well as post contract project programme, ensuring that all interfaces are co-coordinated with the various design, purchasing and construction/ commissioning departments. You will prepare work packages for the various departments as well as delay analyses against the Contractual dates. You will have continual contact with all departments and subcontractors ensuring their compliance.
You will also expedite the subcontractors and suppliers as required. Your role will also involve preparing monthly reports based on the continual update of the programme. You will ensure communication within the project team and with the Project Manager, informing the Project Manager with respect to positive events/developments in the project; expected missing of deadlines/delays; expected cost overruns; risks; contract changes/variations; problems with subcontractors as well as resource bottlenecks and personnel changes.

You will be responsible for the preparation of the erection concept and supervision of the construction/commissioning phases at site. Assisting the Project Manager in monitoring the Project Completion Programme, you will ensure that all potential and actual delays are identified, proposing remedies and ensuring that all sub-contractors activities are suitably co-ordinated and that information and experience is fed back to the departments.
For this role as Project Planner/Scheduler you will be educated to HND/degree level in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent. Sound knowledge of the supply/subcontracting market in the UK is also necessary. You will have a proven track record in delivering Power Stations, Waste to Energy or large industrial plant projects on time. You will also need the capability to lead trade discussions with subcontractors.
A team player who is capable to motivate and lead a multi-disciplined professional team you will have the ability to recognize improvements in existing processes and the confidence to implement changes as required. Expert knowledge of P3 or similar and Microsoft applications is also a prerequisite for this role
