The division undertakes both client funded and internally funded projects.
You will be taking the lead role in planning, proposal generation, liaison with clients and project management of teams of up to 20 people. You will also use your strong technical skills to make a significant contribution to development projects, often working on more than one concurrently, and to participate in consultancy work within client companies.
To achieve this, you will be expected to:
Produce consistently excellent work, autonomously, in your area of expertise and be sought out for advice in this area by engineers within the company
Lead meetings with clients, give presentations and communicate ideas and concepts to all disciplines
Support the activities of Business Leaders in sales meetings, writing sales presentations, project proposals and planning projects

To meet the demanding requirements of this role you will have an excellent first degree in engineering, the physical sciences or a related discipline - a second degree or PhD would be an advantage.
You should also have a good knowledge of the medical device industry and significant experience of product development, preferably within one of the fields listed above.
This experience will extend from requirements gathering through to implementation, verification and validation.
You will have a track record of delivering technically challenging projects against tight time and budget constraints, working within formal development processes - experience of FDA-regulations and ISO 13485 will be an advantage.
You will have a proven ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers and technicians. You will have hands-on experience of engineering complex, multi-disciplinary systems from requirements gathering through to implementation, including verification and validation. You should be proficient in determining compromises between different engineering disciplines at all stages of development. You will also have the ability to communicate technical decisions both within the project team and to clients.
