Opportunities exist for Project Managers within the Intelligent Transport Systems team, as part of the Highways & Transportation business.
Reporting to a Project Director you will be responsible for managing a team of around 10 professionals relating to all aspects of multimodal traveller information and traffic control systems. This will include traffic signals design, real-time passenger information, electronic information displays and motorway communications systems. This is a growing area of the business with promising career prospects and opportunity for progression.
You will be managing feasibility studies, designs, specifications, programmes and cost estimates for specific projects, applying and developing the latest technologies as appropriate, allocating work to project teams, checking, monitoring and ensuring tasks are completed to schedule and costs and liaising with other technical disciplines and clients as required. You will also be required to evaluate engineering problems and consult with technical experts, as necessary, to develop cost effective and robust solutions as well as co-ordinating the preparation and assessment of tender and other documentation.
As Project Manager you should be qualified to degree level in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or related discipline and should ideally be Chartered or working towards Chartership status. You must hold a Full UK driving licence.
You should have relevant experience including technical or operational leadership and project management, proven experience of meeting project milestones and a thorough knowledge and experience of UK regulations, requirements and practice, including CDM and DMRB
You should have experience and understanding of the ITS industry within the Highways Agency and Local Authority market sectors and understanding of traffic signal control methods as well as PRINCE2/MAPM qualification
