Description

Experience of overseeing complete project lifecycle of high tech defence products from concept through to completion, combined with risk analysis and budget control.

Summary of Role Management of specific projects effectively through successful management practices such as project definition, resource management and monitoring procedures to ensure objectives are met. Typical Activities : Plan, manage, and lead the work of the team in the delivery of projects including, producing project documentation (project plans, risk and issue registers, highlight and progress reports etc.),contract management procurement arrangements to ensure successful outcomes, appropriate management and security of all records and documentation. Accountable for risks and issues associated with project implementation, management of the work of the Project team and ensure that all resources associated with that project including budgets are effectively managed.To produce project management documentation in line with reporting structure.Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders through appropriate liaison and communication.Qualifications and Experience : appropriate level of education.Relevant professional qualification or demonstrable appropriate experience. Knowledge : Project Management methodologies.Budget Management.Specialist technical knowledge.Working knowledge of program management functions, processes and systems.Knowledge or understanding of the principles of resource management.Knowledge or understanding of the principles of Budget management.Knowledge of project/program reporting processes.Good working Knowledge of MS Project.Working experience of program and project controls risk, issue management etc.Experience:Previous experience of working in a Project Manager capacity.Experience of managing projects of varying scale.Experience of co-ordinating project teams. Experience with a Project/Program Office environment of;Management of Risk/Issues/Dependencies Logs. Management of Program Action Logs. Management of Monthly Status Reviews and milestone reporting. Support of Gateway Reviews. Maintaining Budget against Actual. Configuration management.
