We are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to work for an Oil and Gas company in Grangemouth.
The Project Manager will be a key part of the engineering and projects team delivering an extensive capital expenditure programme on utility and infrastructure assets on a major UK petrochemical complex. This represents the largest capital spend, and completion on time and to budget will be key to the success of the business as a whole.
The Project Manager will be part of a multidisciplinary team developing the projects from feasibility, through outline design to detailed design and construction. The project manager will be expected to make a full contribution to the management of the entire programme as well as assuming responsibility for discrete packages of work.
The projects will involve complex interface and operational issues across this extensive site and the ability to simultaneously engage with various operational units will be a key requirement.
Main Responsibilities and Measurements of Success
- Management of health safety and environmental standards in a petrochemical environmental on a complex multi customer project
- Visible leadership on HSE issues with respect to projects both in the client organisation and within the company
- No accidents or incidents
- Compliance with all client and the clients HSE systems and procedures
- Excellent relationships with the client at all levels on HSE performance
- Clear and consistent reporting of project KPI's
Experience and Knowledge
- Previous project management experience of utility infrastructure/process projects (water and wastewater)
- To be able to demonstrate full financial and project management responsibility of large capital projects
- Experience of direct customer contact at a reasonably high level
- Direct experience of capital projects in heavy industry, preferable petrochemical (Desirable)
- Experience in a specific engineering element (e.g. mechanical, electrical, process, etc)
- Experience working with EPC contractors
- Ability to use programme management software
- Familiar with current HSE legislation and best practices (incl. CDM and petrochemical standards desirable)
- PC literate (MS Project and office systems)
- Commercially adept and ability to identify and capture value
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
