Our Client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Project Manager to join their organisation
1. JOB PURPOSE:
To effectively manage a variety of predominantly process, mechanical and electrical engineering projects from inception to completion.
To provide specialist support in mechanical and electrical engineering.
2.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Delivery of projects to time and budget.
Evaluate alternative engineering solutions to meet a project requirement. The evaluation shall include an assessment of the risks for each solution. The evaluation shall be presented in the form of an Inception Report.
Supervise, and undertake as necessary, design (conceptual and detailed) for a variety of construction related projects to ensure compliance with statutory legislation, company standards and project 'drivers'.
Project management, including the role of Engineer's Representative or Project Manager, to enable schemes to be completed to the required standard, on time and within budget. Including authorisation of contractor's claims and variations.
Monitor and control the cost and progress of the projects. Communication of these as key performance indicators in regular reports
Build productive relationships with project stakeholders.
Manage, motivate and develop project team members
Manage consultants and contractors to ensure continued focus and delivery of project objectives within budget.
Use sound commercial management techniques with appropriate use of model forms of contract relevant to construction works in the water industry.
Keep abreast of industry and professional developments and evaluate, advise upon and implement new technology and techniques.
Provide technical and professional advice.
