Based in Reading, Thames Water is looking for a Project Manager who can establish and lead project teams to deliver required business outputs on assigned projects.
A project manager in Thames Water has the opportunity to steer projects from their inception at study phase through the design and construction stages to commissioning and handover to their internal Operations client. It is their responsibility to lead and motivate their multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions and deliver them as efficiently as possible. The benchmark for their achievement is the extent to which they can out-perform the initial budget allowance for the project in the capital programme whilst still delivering the required outputs and benefits. They work with our contractors and consultants as one of a team of project managers reporting to a principal project manager. To be successful they need to be able to maintain close financial control on their projects and be skilled at identifying and managing risk.
We are looking for an individual who has a track record in project management, ideally in the water industry. The ideal candidate will have a financial and commercial awareness, an ability to communicate and promote projects to all stakeholders, and the ability to lead a team. Chartered status and/or a post-graduate business or project management qualification would be beneficial, but not essential.
We place great value on our people and the contribution they make to our business, this is why we aim to offer a competitive benefits package to all of our employees. Working for Thames Water you will be able to join our excellent defined benefit final salary pension and will be eligible for our employee bonus scheme. You will also receive a generous holiday entitlement and be eligible for childcare vouchers, a season ticket purchasing loan and a host of discounted products and services through our you at work scheme
