Project Manager - join this leading British developer of advanced radio and satellite communications solutions - for commercial, government and defence applications. Based in Gloucestershire the role will be to project manage the design/production/commissioning/installation of receive only satellite communications system projects.

Project Manager - join this leading British developer of advanced radio and satellite communications solutions - for commercial, government and defence applications. Based in Gloucestershire the role will be to project manage the design/production/commissioning/installation of receive only satellite communications system projects.
Specific responsibilities include, Plan projects, monitor their overall progress, manage risks, resolve issues and initiate corrective action as appropriate. Report both internally & externally, current & anticipated schedule, quality and financial progress. Working closely with Engineering Manager, Programme Managers, Sales/Marketing and the Manufacturing division to achieve contract awards and subsequent timely project execution. Ensure that project deliverables are to the appropriate levels of quality, on time, within budget, and in accordance with the programme plan. Management of and/or close liaison with highly skilled engineering teams with strong RF/DSP/Software communications skills. Provide input to bid activities including the calculation of project costs. Build close customer relationships which will include visits to customer sites both in the UK and overseas.
The Project Manager will be managing complex and demanding projects, to achieve this the following skills are essential: Proven project experience combined with a proven track record of delivering to time and budget in a similar role. Strong interpersonal skills combined with experience of leading teams and managing relationships with customers and suppliers. Full project lifecycle experience including the practical and effective use of formal project and risk management tools and methodologies. Good standard of technical and computer literacy.
The following skills and/or experience are highly desirable: An appreciation of satellite communications, high level software and data analysis tools, ideally underpinned by an honours degree in an appropriate technical subject. Experience in Law Enforcement, Government Agency sector experience including contracting and the bid process. Experience of working with international customers and of delivering high technology products. Understanding of manufacturing processes and of business strategy and market analysis
Working knowledge of Earned Value management
