As Project Manager you will be required to manage capital projects to time and cost in a contracting role. Project values are from £250k up to £10m. You will ensure the business requirements are fully understood and incorporated to an agreed brief.
The main challenges of the role include:
•Receive new projects, discuss with clients their requirements, and ensure that the deliverables meet client requirements.
•Ensure profitability on projects
•Review and implement contracts for clients, developers, contractors and the company itself
•Management of sub-contractors and suppliers
•Work to tight deadlines demonstrating an ability to work under pressure and have a flexible disposition
•Demonstrate excellent IT skills utilising the Microsoft Office Packages
•Management of all project H&S including compliance with CDM
•Ensure construction sites are adequately managed and resourced and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
Principal Accountabilities will be to deliver projects to time and within cost constraints, manage and negotiate sub-contracts with conflict resolution and ensure project plans are up to date and effective. You will also be expected to maintain first class client relationships, help develop our clients profile both within the UK and internationally through presentations at conferences and liaise with clients to interpret requirements, prepare tenders and deliver results within agreed timescales.
With a degree in Electrical Engineering, you should have sound experience working in an engineering environment. Experience in a construction environment would be highly desirable. You will have excellent project planning skills and demonstrable experience of delivering projects, as well as highly developed interpersonal, organisational and negotiation skills. You should be well organised and able to work own initiative, pay close attention to detail and have the ability to prioritise demanding workloads.
You will receive specific training as agreed and required to develop key skills, which enhance your capabilities in the performance of this role.
