To undertake a Project Management Role on those projects allocated to the job holder, either working as part of a Project Management team on larger projects, or running their own projects and reporting directly to the Project Partner/Associate on smaller/less complex projects. Assist with the preparation of tender submissions/fee proposals and attend interviews as required. Specific duties will be tailored to the project requirements, The job holder may also be expected to take on some responsibility for guidance and mentoring of graduates and trainees. Additionally, they may be required to participate, from time to time, in various business related initiatives being undertaken by the firm.

The job holder will be expected to maintain the highest standards in undertaking their work and act with integrity and professionalism at all time. They should comply with the firms laid down standards, procedures and processes and implement these effectively. This will include:

•The Quality Management System
•The Project Management Toolbox as found on Summit, the firms intranet
•Supporting and Promoting the highest standards of Health and Safety Performance on all projects, by applying the approach and principles set out within the Partners Expectations section of Summit, which specifically deals with creating a positive, proactive Health and Safety culture.

It is expected that the jobholder will contribute and participate positively in the Performance Development Review (PDR) process, which underpins the firms approach to developing all staff and Partners. This will include taking ownership of agreed actions, including pursuing any training opportunities identified. Similarly, specific objectives will be agreed with the jobholder as part of the PDR process and they should assume responsibility for the delivery of these.

Experience:
Demonstrable and extensive Post Qualification experience in project management gained working within a client, consultant or contractor environment, with good exposure to Education sector projects and a working knowledge of landlord/tenant law and processes. Experience should cover all phases of the project from inception to completion and the ability to work as a team member and lead, where appropriate, is essential. Good planning and programming skills are required, as is a working knowledge of contract law and procedures including experience with all aspects of Employers Agent role. An ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both orally and in writing, is essential. Demonstrable skills in maintaining and developing both internal and external relationships are required. Demonstrable IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft office software is essential. Experienced with managing and assisting in the training of colleagues.

However we will look at candidates with less experience provided the experience to date is sufficiently relevant.

Qualifications:

Ideally a degree in a built environment subject and/or a relevant professional qualification, typically: MRICS, MICE, MCIOB or equivalent. MAPM is also desirable.
