A Southampton based full service supplier to automotive, aerospace and other industries is looking for a Project Manager.
To ensure that our company meets its medium to long business plans by managing client projects, client expectations and developing the engineering team, in particular:
Becoming the engineering team's senior project manager
Implementing project management best practice compatible with ISO9001
Working closely with the Engineering Director in formulating client strategy
Main Duties:
Working closely with clients to ensure we meet their expectations (all the way from requirement specifications through to production engineering)
Day to day management of development projects
Manage transition from development project through to commercial build
Mentoring other project managers in the engineering team
Presenting us at trade shows and seminars
Keeping on top of project expenditure, income & cashflow
Key competences required for the role:
Understanding of project management methodologies
Good planning & financial management skills
Good motivator of others
Good presentation skills and able to be believed and trusted by clients.
Technically sound (but not an expert) in electrical and mechanical engineering with a good understanding of thermodynamics
Be reasonably conversant with the current and emerging technologies for large vehicles
Experience with automotive engineering requirements & standards
