•Be educated to degree level in an Engineering discipline, however extensive relevant, practical experience is more important.
•Be computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office tools including MS Project, Word and Excel. You must be presentable, professional and be able to communicate effectively with customers at all levels of seniority.

Job Role
Plan and manage the construction of unique, one-off, technically advanced, high value automation and capital equipment products.
Ensure the procurement of parts and resources used on the project meet the budget and timescales set out at the start.
Maximise profits whilst meeting the expectations of the customer.
Look for opportunities to increase revenue and cut costs but not at the expense of quality, performance or customer satisfaction.
Monitor, justify and agree resource requirements.
Track, control and report on project progress.
Lead the team on the project to pre-empt problems and use experience to solve them in a cost effective manner
Qualifications and Experience
Probably educated to degree level preferably in Engineering, however extensive relevant experience is more important. Computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office tools including MS Project, Word and Excel. Some experience with ERP software would be beneficial. Must be presentable, professional and be able to communicate effectively with customers, possibly up to Director level.

Key Duties
•Ensure that all projects are built to specification and are delivered within budget and on time
•Work with others to agree the metrics and budgets for the new build activities
•Create plans at appropriate levels that give visibility of overall progress, enable accurate planning and control, and also ensure that individual team members are clear on what is expected of them
•Carry out regular detailed project reviews with Team Leaders in addition to the main project review with the Engineering and Projects Manager
•Monitor new build projects to ensure metrics and budgets are achieved and report variances
•Ensure through good planning that adequate resources will be available to achieve successful project outcomes
•Justify resources
•Use your own skills and knowledge as well as that of group leaders and Directors to ensure that all designs are built within budget and on time
•Facilitate team members to work safely and within the Health and Safety Legislation
•Work within the Quality System and actively look for areas of improvement. Work with the Quality Manager and others to implement improvements
•In conjunction with Purchasing assist in maintaining good commercial relationships with key suppliers and contractors
•Use resources and systems that are in place e.g. Timesheets, to enable substantive project reviews to take place to identify potential problems for use in future planning
•Ensure a clean handover of projects to service and support
•Work within and understand the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9001 2000 TickIT. Contribute towards its improvement
•Work within all other Company systems and protocols.
