My clients specialise in the design and manufacture of medical devices, they currently have a requirement for a Project Engineer to work within their disposables department.

Overall purpose of job

-To support the introduction of new disposables products through all phases of product development cycle.
-To provide necessary technical support for current disposable products.
-To provide technical input/support for disposable product enhancements.

Principal Responsibilities

-Liaising with relevant internal functions to ensure that products meet both quality and customer requirements.
-Develop and manage Project plans for above.
-Develop test plans and assist with product testing as required.
-Ensure that supporting project documentation complies with corporate standards.
-Liaising with suppliers and third party manufacturers to ensure that products are delivered in a timely, cost effective manner consistent with company operational goals.
-Performing detailed analysis, and troubleshooting, where necessary, to identify causes of design issues, customer complaints and following through to complete solution.
-Support departmental compliance with the requirements of the EC Medical Directives, ISO9000 and associated quality system requirements.

Person specification

-Engineer Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical, Polymer, Materials engineering or similar.
-Knowledge of plastic materials/compositions, injection moulding, plastic extrusion and plastics forming/joining processes.
-Computer literate.
-Flexible attitude and good interpersonal skills.
