An extensive client base and high levels of growth mean that a vacancy now exists for a Project Engineer Electrical System Integration to join one of the world leaders in the development of engine and vehicle technology.
As part of the Powertrain Controls and Applications team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering powertrain electrical systems that meet the agreed functional, cost, quality and operational requirements, within budget and time constraints. Reporting to the System Integration Section Leader, the position will involve close communication and cooperation with overall project teams, engineering technical support functions, clients and suppliers. Technical task management is key to achieving delivery of systems.
Specific responsibilities will include:
•Resource Planning
•DVP Production and Completion (see below)
•Status reporting through Vehicle Project Teams
•Problem/Concerns Resolution & Management
•Use of Client order/purchase/finance process
•Chair Regular Meetings with Supplier and OEM Team
•Vehicle Build support coordination
•Troubleshooting on Fleet vehicles
•Manufacturing support
The successful candidate is likely to be Degree or HND/HNC qualified. He / she will have experience of product engineering processes, and these could include:
•Preparation of system and component specifications
•Preparation of FMEAs
•Preparation of BOMs
•Supplier management
•Structured problem solving
•Engineering quality, development, gateway and product release systems
•Good task planning and control
•Broad engineering knowledge of powertrain EMS systems
•Excellent communication skills
•Be comfortable in meeting environments, and be able to put forward full and reasoned arguments, based on data analysis
•Ability to coordinate and understand information from multiple engineering functions
•Excellent PC skills
