Description

To plan and implement building projects from initial design through to report, implementation and hand over. To ensure that all projects are executed to within the agreed specification, budget and time scale. The engineer is required to run all aspects of building projects and may include some mechanical and electrical work. This will be for a variety of different projects from small modifications to larger capital projects.

2.0DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1Produce project briefs for approval of the customer.

2.2Compile accurate costs for projects.

2.3Able to provide project plans.

2.4Produce reports for proposed projects.

2.5Provide regular reports and updates on project progress.

2.6Maintain good financial control of project budget and ensure that the cost control is accurate and can be audited.

2.7Negotiate with suppliers to ensure best price.

2.8Manage contractors to work safely and within agreed specification.

2.9To be able to induct contractors in compliance with above.

2.10Issue permits to agreed procedure and enforce as necessary.

2.11Handover completed projects and ensure that all documentation is archived and issued to the end user of the project.

2.12Manage snagging list and progress the completion within the agreed budgets.

2.13Manage and report unavoidable extra costs incurred within a project.

2.14Manage suppliers to an appropriate service level agreement.


2.15Manage the process of planning permission with the local authorities.

2.16Produce tender documents for projects.

2.17Organise maintenance tasks for buildings and infrastructure.

Health and Safety

2.18Ensure projects are carried out safely to protect company employees, contractors and visitors to the site.

2.19All projects should be carried out with regard to all current relevant regulations and standards.

2.20Able to work in accordance with CDM regulations.

2.21Able to assess method statements and risk assessments to ensure relevance to the work being carried out by the contractors.

2.22Monitor contractors so that they are working safely and in an appropriate manner.
