6. Project Engineer Civil S179
Thames Water are looking to recruit a Civil Engineer to develop the implementation of project designs on our major capital investment programme for Water Treatment Plants.
Thames Water has one of the largest capital investment programmes therefore this is a great opportunity to work on long-term multi-million pound projects to build new or modernise some of the largest Water Treatment Plants in the UK.
Excellent opportunity to broaden both technical and personnel skills to enable future career progression.
The role involves:
•Civil and infrastructure design on a portfolio of projects
•Site visits
•Undertaking detailed studies of existing plant and systems
•Producing conceptual civil designs for Water Treatment Plants
•Writing design specifications
•Preparation of tender documents
•Dealing with design issues that arise during the construction phase
•Regular liasing with both internal and external stakeholders
•This role is based in west London, but flexibility to travel to other Thames Water offices and sites is essential
Ideally qualified to degree level in Civil Engineering or similar with a background in civil engineering design. You should be able to undertake a full design role from initial briefing to final completion with minimal supervision and direction.
A good team player able to help others whenever required and contribute to the continuous improvement of the overall process with good communication skills to be able to relate to all stakeholders.
As the role may involve occasional site working, basic understanding of potential H&S risks, (hazards and procedures) for working on construction and operational sites is required. A driving licence will be required as travel is involved.
