Technology Engineering Manager is required for this leading defence organisation. Based in Avon and commutable from Bristol, Stroud, Chippenham and Chepstow. Strict MOD Security Criteria applies to this vacancy.
This is a high profile role as part of our Strategic Research team on the Capability Augmentation Programme (CAP), a multi Business Unit responsible for projects focussed on the development and demonstration of company system capabilities and future research and development. It currently addresses Autonomy, ISTAR, Network and Information Systems, Energy and Power Management, and Health and Usage Monitoring technologies. The Project Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of the engineering options and solutions servicing this portfolio of projects.
The Technology Manager will be the technical authority. To lead and formulate with the engineering options and solutions including system architecture, integration strategies, trial / demonstration mechanisms to meet CAP aims and strategies. To determine, agree with the appropriate authorities, and ensure the adoption of, all necessary engineering LCM principles particularly those associated with safety. To chair all CAP engineering reviews. To report on a regular basis to senior company technical review bodies.
We are looking for an experienced systems engineer to act as the authority for this small but high profile team. We require software capability background and broad engineering experience (aircraft, ground or marine), and the ability to be able to build systems to meet needs requirements across the various businesses. We need an engineer who is adaptable, clear thinking and decisive, who can work across the various businesses, including overseas, in a diplomatic and influential way and who is a strong character both technically and in character. A degree in engineering with good mathematical qualifications would be ideal but more important is the technical experience and broad understanding
