Description

A utility company in the Surrey area requires a Project Engineer to manage projects within multiple sites from their Redhill office

This position is primarily concerned with the Management of Contracts for the refurbishment and replacement of the Distribution Network and other minor Contracts. The maintenance, refurbishment and extension of the Distribution Network utilising both direct and contract labour.

There is also specific responsibility for the management of all works relating to the Company's water quality programme.



Main duties (in order of priority):

> Design, Planning, and Supervision of Capital and Revenue projects associated with network maintenance, refurbishment (including scraping and relining for water quality improvement) and extension of the distribution network.

> Long and short-term planning of the capital replacement programme.

> Specific Management of the Reinstatement element of the period contract, focusing on checking and approving payments, defect control/management and co-ordination with the Highway Authorities with regard to NRSWA inspections.

> Preparation of valuations for work executed both network construction and rehabilitation contracts.

> To provide occasional technical support to the Section Managers in all activities.

> External Liaison with Contractors, Consultants, Environmental Groups, Parish Councils, District Councils, Highway Authorities, Private Road/Landowners and Customers.

> Continual liaison with the Distribution and Supply Departments to ensure all works are executed with the minimum effect to the water supply.

> To provide support as part of the emergency team in the event of an incident that could directly affect the stability of the Company's operation, or significantly affect the service delivery to customers.

> Preparation of pre-construction information in accordance with the CDM Regulations 2007 and general monitoring of health and safety performance during the construction phase of each works.
