Part of a German-owned Engineering Group, with a history dating back over 100 years, our Client provides mechanical handling equipment and automation solutions to a wide range of customers in the UK and overseas. The Project Design Engineer, co-ordinates and manages the design resource from concept to installation/commissioning, liaising with customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, procuring key sub assemblies, and ensuring adherence to specification and the provision of relevant project documentation. In addition, as a relatively small specialist division of this major group, involvement can vary to include input to all business areas, combining the advantages of a small dynamic company with a large, financially successful parent group.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Design Engineer, ideally strong academically but certainly with good practical engineering skills, with the following:
2D & 3D CAD skills
Experience of Special Purpose Production Machinery design
An insight into pneumatic and machine control systems
Project Leadership experience
Works well with customers and within teams
