Thames Water are looking to recruit a Project Construction Engineer (Control & Instrumental).The role is required to ensure that the construction phase of capital projects are delivered to the time, cost, quality objectives and that the interface with the existing treatment process is managed to minimise process interruption and mitigate any risks that may arise as a consequence of the construction activity.
This is a key role to ensure the efficient and safe delivery of construction contracts delivered through Thames Waters Capital investment programme. It requires the management of contractors on site, the successful applicant will apply his skill and experience to manage risks and ensure that the projects that he is working on are delivered to time cost and quality objectives with minimum interference with the day to day operation of existing treatment plants
The role of the Project Construction Engineer (PCE) will involve
•Overseeing the construction phase of project delivery, administer the construction contract, ensure adequate, safe and efficient project delivery and safeguard Thames Waters interests through to project completion.
•Add value by making an early and continued input to the project development stages particularly around site assessment, buildability, project and contract programming and procurement.
•In the majority of contract forms used by Thames Water the Construction Engineer will be appointed as Project Managers Representative with powers delegated under the contract by the Project Manager.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in construction project delivery, preferably with some experience in water or waste water projects and expertise in control and instrumentation.
•Good communication skills are key for this role
•The ability to work on own initiative
•Practical knowledge of Health and Safety requirements in construction and design
•Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be flexible to travel
