High profile central government organisation in Birmingham seeks Programme Planner to support the Project Manager through the development and management of the master Project Plan. This will include the development and incorporation of the lead Workstream Managers project plans into one overall cohesive delivery and implementation plan identifying any inter-dependencies between the workstreams.
Essential:
•Experience of working in a project office supporting complex stakeholder and supplier relationships on Government outsourcing arrangements
•Experience of using planning tools, e.g. MS Project, to create project plans through the effective application of planning techniques.
•Prince 2 practitioner level project management experience
•Managing multiple suppliers and stakeholders on complex ICT business transformation projects in excess of £10m within the Central government organisation.
•Experience of producing and managing Project Plans across multiple workstreams, defining realistic milestones and identifying dependencies
•IT literate with extensive experience of MS Office package and their use in project support functions
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively and tactfully with people at all levels within (and external to) the organisation.
•Works effectively as a team member and helps build relationships within it. Actively helps and supports others to achieve team goals.
Desirable:
•Excellent research skills to ensure effective application of current thinking and practice in the areas of project programme management
•Trained to Practitioner level or with equivalent experience in Prince 2 and MoR
•Thorough knowledge of Management of Risk (MoR)
Due to the tight timescales of this requirement, you will ideally already hold Security Clearance to at least SC level (or be willing to undergo the vetting process).
