Programme Manager is required for this leading international defence company to be responsible for the full project delivery of large scale complex integration projects. Based in Gloucestershire, commutable from Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Malvern, Worcestershire etc

Programme Manager is required for this leading international defence company to be responsible for the full project delivery of large scale complex integration projects. Based in Gloucestershire, commutable from Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Malvern, Worcestershire etc
Responsibilities include - Prepare & implement work schedules and programme planning, liaising with specialist areas across a matrixed organisation. Monitor, review and prioritise work schedules with the team and review programme resources. Monitoring, management and mitigation of existing and new risks. Manage & execute programmes from any part of the programme lifecycle (assessment phase, development, production, support and disposal). Ensure requirements of contract are flowed down to the programme team with clearly defined tasking. Provide advice and work with the team to resolve matters relating to costs, work schedules and technical issues as required. Regular reporting & monitoring of programme progress, performance, costs v forecast, schedule, milestones etc. Manage sub-contractors & work partners. Provide primary focus for the customer and ensure satisfaction is maintained at all times. Identify and pursue follow-on business opportunities and participate in bid management. Ensure achievement of programme deliverables in line with contract schedule of requirements, to correct cost, quality and deadlines.
You will be of Degree calibre with proven project/programme management experience in a relevant engineering/defence environment. Broad experience of financial management, team leadership, and business development. Experience of leadership of multi-disciplined & matrixed teams, with experience of time scheduling/phasing on complex programmes/portfolio of programmes. Strong budgeting/cost management, Risk Management (with high risk programmes). Ability to lead large integrated project teams. Proven commercial/technical astuteness and judgement and strategic awareness.
Further Programme Management related qualification (e.g. APM Practitioner, PRINCE2)/evidence of continuing professional development would be advantageous. Defence & MoD knowledge and familiarity with MoD's acquisition process would enhance your application.
