Our Client is a leading engineering company with a need for an experienced Programme Manager from a product development background.
Summary:
Under limited direction, the Program Manager is responsible for leading the program team that includes development, operations, procurement, marketing, quality and finance activities required to meet customer requirements. Provide solutions that are consistent with organisational objectives to a variety of complex problems. Lead cross-functional teams to achieve customer requirements according to company policies and guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Successfully execute the objective of the Program Manager role across multiple sites throughout the organization.
- Manage daily business activities and tasks in a global organization by providing a common point of contact for the program throughout the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement programs across area of responsibility.
- Ensure projects follow the Xyratex Product Life Cycle Process (PLCP).
- Plan and schedule checkpoint reviews including updates when changes occur that significantly impact the business case.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across multiple worldwide sites.
- Chair weekly Program Team meetings.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Comprehensive understanding of storage hardware concepts (SAN, RAID, SCSI, Disk Drive)
- Advanced level skill using Microsoft Project
- Intermediate level skill using Microsoft Suite of products
- Ability to apply formal meeting organization and facilitation skills
- Advanced level customer relation skills to manage expectations, perceptions and outcomes
- Ability to respond to technical inquiries from co-workers, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and develop, prove, and document the conclusions and/or solutions
- Possess the ability to prioritise multiple tasks, manage conflicting deadlines, and work effectively in a dynamic environment
- Ability to think strategically and plan tactically
- Ability to build collaborative relationships on multiple organizational levels, with managers, partners and peers from diverse backgrounds across functional lines
- Apply skills of persuasion and the ability to create consensus
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred
- Strong experience in Program Management preferred or equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- Demonstrates a successful record managing large-scale, project execution and meeting delivery schedules
Schedule requirements:
- Must appreciate the importance of managing in a 24*7 environment.
Travel requirements:
- Regular domestic and international travel, sometimes on short notice.
- Must keep a current passport and no history of declined visas, or entry refusal to any country.
