Production Technician Electronics & Optical Assembly
Rothley, Leicestershire
£17,000 (rising to £18,000 after qualifying period)

Our client is an exciting and innovative high-tech manufacturing business that makes 3D movement analysis systems used in the medical and research sectors, with the goal of enhancing lives. They now require a talented Production Technician to join their team.

Based at their offices in Rothley, as the Production Technician you will join a small and friendly family owned company who supply innovative products to prestigious universities and hospitals around the world. For the right person there is good scope for career development.

In this role your production work will involve fine-detailed assembly of electronic, optical and casing components to a very high standard, carried out according to agreed plans.

The Production Technician will:

- Assemble electronic, optical and casing components to very high standards, including some soldering work
- Use in-house software tools and calibration rig to calibrate products
- Package and document outgoing goods appropriately
- Assist with purchasing where necessary
- Help to maintain a tidy and organised working environment, including appropriate storage of stock
- Operate production control software and help to keep it up-to-date

To succeed in this position you must have strong experience of electronics assembly/fine-detailed assembly work, and a good level of computer literacy. Your experience may have be gained in the form of higher qualifications such as a HND/degree (or equivalent), or previous jobs in which the skills were used.

As the Production Technician you will also be a responsible, hard-working person, who is friendly with an easy-going personality. You will have excellent organisational and record-keeping skills, and be a good communicator in a team situation. Above all, you will be a keen learner and enjoy taking on new tasks.

Working in a small business environment its vital that you are dedicated and foster good relations with other members of the team. Schedules and priorities for production builds are created as a team effort. You must be flexible in your approach as plans may have to change at short notice.
