Production Team Manager

My client is a leading high volume manufacturing specialist of toiletries and skin care products. They are hoping to become a world class manufacturer and are looking for high calibre people managers wholl drive the process forward.

As a Production Team Manager, you will take responsibility for the delivery of products, within a demanding quality, cost and service framework, developing your team and supporting their personal growth in line with business expansion. You will be directly influencing the business everyday by making decisions that will help meet customer demands as they continue on the journey of lean manufacturing towards becoming world class.

Key Responsibilities include:
Ensure customer requirements are fulfilled in terms of providing products at the right quality, cost and on time.
Manage initiatives to reduce cost and improve resource and labour effectiveness. Where appropriate seek support of other specialist functions both within and outside of the factory.
Contribute to the management of revenue and capital budgets.
Ensure appropriate levels of QA systems and procedures are maintained. Where practical, ensures that actions are taken to eliminate the root cause of all QA failures to prevent reoccurance.
Ensure that the impact of Safety, Environmental and other legislative requirements are met
Work with individuals to identify individual development needs and provide training, coaching and development where necessary.
Ensure effective communication within the team involving them in decision making.
Maintain excellent employee relations and monitor disciplinary issues with particular focus on absence and effective performance management.
Maintain excellent team working, across shifts and departments, with own peer group.

You may have gained this experience in High Volume Manufacturing environments such as Food, Pharmaceutical or Packaging. More importantly, and the key to your success, will be your commitment, passion and work ethic.

Applicants should be of graduate calibre with a technical, engineering or science qualification. At least 2-3 years management experience is essential, preferably from within a FMCG environment. A sound understanding of Lean manufacturing principles is also highly desirable.
