My clients specialise in the design and manufacture of electro-mechanical and disposable medical devices, they are currently looking for a Production Supervisor to work on the their site in Basingstoke.

Overall purpose of job

As a key member of the manufacturing team you will direct the manufacturing of high quality products, interacting with the support teams to ensure clear communication of objectives and targets. You will continually identify ways to improve productivity, product quality, and employee morale. The role will include interaction with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Materials, and Research and Development to ensure customer expectations are exceeded. It may also include the interaction with other groups, such as Customer Service, and Service Repair, to identify customer issues and provide resolution.

Principal Accountabilities

-Managing a team of Manufacturing Operatives, and as such being responsible for individual appraisals, employee development, and all other aspects of personnel management.
-Supports the Production Manager in ensuring a smooth manufacturing process, from timely delivery of components to finished goods leaving production, so that all products meet specification.
-Managing designated product line(s) and ensuring that all manufacturing objectives including product quality and throughput are achieved consistently, and improvement targeted.
-Working 'hands-on' in the production environment, and ensuring all documented processes are adhered to.
-SAP transactions for production orders and maintenance of physical inventory accuracy and integrity .
-Assisting other areas such as Materials, Quality, Technical Service, and Research and Development, as required.
-Bill of materials (B.O.M.) verification and audit as required
-Maintenance and update of statistical process control (SPC) charts and data collection.
-Analyse, produce and maintain KPI's for production and generate reports for management.
-Generate, monitor and control production build priorities in line with demand.
-Process quality improvements and problem resolution procedures.
-Carry out stocktaking as required.
-Ensure all manufacturing staff are trained to current document revisions and build issues as defined in training procedures. Ensure individual training records are maintained, and those of direct reports.
-Co-ordinate line meetings as required (line issues such as manufacturing errors/build plan, etc..)
-Assist with the implementation of lean manufacturing 5s and continuous improvements
- Process quality improvements and problem resolution procedures, working closely with line technicians.


Person specification

-Degree qualified or equivalent education
-Experience in manufacturing Medical Infusion Devices or equivalent industry.
-Self motivated and can work with no supervision
