Description
Production Scheduler/Materials Planner
Required by this leading Defence organisation to plan, coordinate, facilitate, expedite and control all the associated hardware and material for allocated tasks to achieve schedule adherence the quality conditions, cost and the programme/projects demands. To satisfy the requirements of the Intra Unit Order and Customers requirements using systems, procedures and instructions defined by the business.
The role will be based in Bedfordshire and is commutable from Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Stevenage and Hatfield.
Key responsibility areas:
Agree the material and hardware delivery plan with the Planning Controller/Operations Team Leader/ /Operations Programme Manager/Project Leader/Master Production Scheduler for each of the respective programmes they work on and control. Ensure the hardware delivery supply requirement is clearly understood by those responsible for providing it and facilitate their agreement to the plan. Raise Purchase requisitions, monitor, maintain status and project requirement using Network Procurement. Focal interface to project customers. Asset Management. Monitor and expedite all allocated tasks to maximise schedule adherence. Plan, expedite and support the supply of material. Ensure material cost is controlled. Facilitate Liaise and co-ordinate with Purchasing, Goods receiving, Stores, Inspection, and other Operations Groups to expedite tasks and resolve problems. Progress material and hardware around site. Create manufacturing part structures (MBOMS) from data designs (EBOMS) using PDM (metaphase) and ERP. Initiate Internal Release Notes (IRNs) for despatch paperwork as required.
The Product Planner will be educated to at least BTEC (including OND/ONC) in Mechanical/ Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience. You will need a good understanding of MRP production and good all round computer literacy desirable.
