Production Planner - Required for this Leading Defence Company, based in the South West. Reporting to the Planning Manager you will be responsible for planning, controlling and expediting manufacturing requirements from receipt of contract, through Purchasing, Kitting, Production and Test to Despatch. Part of this role will be liasing with customers on technical and delivery requirements. All applicants will be required to undergo MOD security checks and therefore all applicants must be able to meet the strict criteria.
Experience
Experience in a technical planner role in Electronics Manufacturing & Engineering. Working in a busy environment.
Professional communication skills. Computer Literacy including knowledge of MS Office Excel, Word & Outlook. Good organisational skills. Adept at problem solving.
Qualifications
ONC level or equivalent in Manufacturing or Engineering related subjects.
Main Duties and Responsibilities will include:-
Planning of jobs from receipt of order through to despatch to meet customer delivery requirements;
Interfacing and collating any extra costs associated with the job; Requesting appropriate labour from the Production Department; Progressing the resolution of problems through associated departments to their final conclusion; Raising concessions and production permits where appropriate; Providing feedback internally and to the customer regarding problems that may affect quality, delivery and/or costs to the job; Raising shopfloor documentation; Providing the shopfloor with complete kits (materials and documentation); Ensuring the build standards meet customer requirements; Conducting/attending contractual start-up meetings, manufacture start-up meetings, material reviews and trial kitting activities; Attending Production meetings; Striving towards the reduction of inventory levels; Provide customer feedback regarding problems during build;
