Their products and services are used in Aerospace, Defence and specialised industrial applications by major OEM's worldwide in hazardous and safety critical systems worldwide.
THE JOB
PRODUCTION/MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
Due to continued success and expansion my client is now looking to recruit an experienced Production/Manufacturing Engineer.
Based at the clients Berkshire facility the main purpose of the role is improvement of the manufacturing processes, and equipment, with a view to making improvements or replacing with more efficient and cost effective manufacturing methods.
Other duties/responsibilities are outlined below
1.To manage the design, procurement and commissioning of new equipment and processes into our manufacturing and assembly areas.
2.To promote and implement lean manufacturing techniques.
3.To ensure that production engineering projects are delivered on-time and within budget.
4.To purchase and monitor specialist production tooling and the quality of product it produces.
5.To provide technical support to procurement to ensure an effective evaluation of our supply chain management.
6.To work with our maintenance resources to ensure that effective preventative systems are put in place and that all equipment is productivity is maximised.
7.To work with the line managers to ensure that the health and safety of the staff is of paramount importance in the design and operation of all machinery on the site.
8.To create and maintain Production related documentation to a high standard and along with maintaining accurate and descriptive records.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
1.Several years experience in a medium to low volume mechanical production-engineering environment.
2.Knowledge of flexible Hose manufacture, manufacture of plastics or metals with convolutions, or metal braiding processes would be desirable.
3.Experience with the successful implementation of lean manufacturing techniques would be desirable.
4.Strong IT and computer skills Lotus, Word, Excel, basic CAD abilities etc. Ability to program/fault find logic controllers and SPC experience would be preferable.
5.Strong technical background, ideally with graduate level (or equivalent) qualifications.
6.Ability to deliver innovative solutions to traditional problems.
7.Ability to communicate in an appropriate and effective manner with team members, customers and other departments..
8.Internal drive, enthusiasm and ability to work hands on' with minimal supervision.
9.Driving licence.
REMUNERATION
Basic salary £26k - £30k (depending on experience), profit share scheme, four and a half day week, five weeks holiday (plus statutory) and pension is on offer
