With customers across the globe, our client develops, manufactures and sells a range of world-class UV/Visible Spectrophotometers, Micro-titre Plate readers, and Amino Acid Analysers. Following business expansion they now have an opportunity for a Production Manager to join their team.
Production Manager - Lean Manufacturing
Cambridge

With customers across the globe, our client develops, manufactures and sells a range of world-class UV/Visible Spectrophotometers, Micro-titre Plate readers, and Amino Acid Analysers. Following business expansion they now have an opportunity for a Production Manager to join their team.
This is the ideal role to join an exciting and changing working environment and play a key role in driving change. In this position you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of 35 staff to deliver the planned build requirements for all company instruments and chemicals, on budget, on time and to agreed quality levels.
As the Production Manager your key duties will include:
- being an advocate for the company's manufacturing strategy
- developing a quality conscious team with a disciplined, procedural approach
- driving process improvement through training and leading process improvement teams
- carrying out performance appraisals and managing attendance
To succeed in this role you must have experience of implementing lean manufacturing techniques, and a qualification in mechanical or electronic engineering (preferably a degree or equivalent). You must also have proven experience in managing a team in a similar environment and carrying out appraisals.
Additionally, as the Production Manager you must have strong team leadership skills, a good level of PC literacy, and an awareness of H&S legislation.
