Opportunities exist for a Production Engineer to join the Electrical Machines section of the Manufacturing Department of this global specialist in power conversion. The purpose of the role is to provide production engineering service for the electrical machines manufacturing unit and increase the production process efficiency of the cell/line.
The Production Engineer will be required to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, by utilising knowledge of product design, materials, parts, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards, as well as analyse processes: cycle timing work studies, balance tasks to meet time requirement and analyse quality issues by using problem solving techniques.
Duties will also include estimating production times, staff requirements and related costs to procure information for management decisions, conferring with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate and improve production processes and participating and implementing Lean initiatives and any other improvements within the area.
Your Health & Safety responsibilities will include ensuring all equipment & machinery meets or exceeds statutory regulations and that risk assessments are completed, taking responsibility for self and others, cooperating fully with all safe working practices and contributing to the implementation of such practices when necessary.
To succeed as Production Engineer, you should have at least a HNC in Mechanical or Production engineering and substantial knowledge or experience of a similar role, as well as first class problem solving skills.. A solid background in manufacturing principles is desirable as are skills in process analysis. Good knowledge of both Word & Excel packages is essential.
