Hours : 8 - 4:30 pm M-Thurs
8 1:30 pm Friday

Established, yet growing market leading mechanical / electro-mechanical manufacturer supplying defence and aerospace markets.

This is a varied, key role in support of new products with key accountability for:
Working with design on new product projects to ensure designs are produced in the most cost effective and efficient way
This will involve organisation of design, specification and procurement of any necessary tooling
Ensuring BOM is structure to enable smooth transition from concept to full scale manufacture
Writing work instructions
Approval of drawings to ensure there is enough detail for accurate manufacture
Establishing lead times for assemblies in the MRP system
Working in partnership with key suppliers

The ideal candidate will be an experienced HND + qualified Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer with mechanical / electro-mechanical manufacturing experience, ideally including sheet metal fabrication, casting / machining processes. Experience of lean / continuous improvement / kaizan principals required as is CAD experience.
