Description

This key role is responsible for ensuring that production planning is consistent with customer requirements. The job holder will be required to plan, monitor and control the production activities of Cable Accessories to ensure that customer needs are met, consistent with the efficient operation of the factory and the optimisation of the capital employed. Specific responsibilities will include:-

Ensuring that all products are routed and costed correctly;
Controlling the WIP inventory and making priority decisions as appropriate;
Producing weekly cell schedules to ensure that sales and manufacturing targets are achieved;
Acting as the key interface between Logistics and Manufacturing functions to ensure effective communication of priorities and changes;
Placing orders on subcontractors when required;
Identifying improvement opportunities and methods to achieve;

The successful candidate will be qualified, as a minimum, to HNC standard or equivalent. Experience of cellular or machine shop manufacture utilising modern inventory control techniques would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.

Working under pressure, you will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and inter-personal skills together with a "team player" approach. This role will also require a high degree of self-motivation and organisational ability.

Candidates must be capable of analysing complex production schedule situations to ensure effective optimisation of all manufacturing constraints. An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office will be essential, with SAP a desirable.
