Product Engineering position within a successful global company involved in the manufacture aluminium and titanium super alloy castings for the automotive, aerospace and construction industries.
Salary & Location: £26,000 - £27,000 + Pension + Overtime + 25 days Holiday. South West, Devon, Exeter, Taunton, Barnstaple, Honiton, Sidmouth, Crediton, Exmouth.
The Role:
Within the remit of the role you will be involved in the development, implementation and maintenance of product engineering based applications specifically for the Rolls Royce components division (military/civil based products) within the metal castings department. This will involve reviewing product design for compliance with engineering principles and customer contract regulations from concept-completion. You will be dealing with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems. You will need to approve design changes, specifications and quotes and therefore must have a good understanding of dimensions and the analysis/validation of them. Completing route cause analysis, measuring and achieving process capability regulations and working on cost reduction and method improvement projects will be a vital part of your role. There is a responsibility for the product engineer to take responsibility for the metallurgical side and creating process steps. This will mean having an understanding and control of the quality and tooling aspects of the component (i.e. what is needed and the outsourcing of it). Throughout the product development you will work to aerospace standards/regulations. As a skilled and meticulous Product Engineer you will be well organised and capable of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
