My client designs, develops and manufactures a weldless framing system, the currently have a requirement for a Product Development Manager.
To participate as a member of the Management Team in the day to day management of the company.
Job Purpose:
To identify, prioritise and control new product initiatives for Europe. To manage the introduction of new products, the attainment of new product approvals and the maintenance of existing approvals for the group. Responsibilities cover products manufactured by the group companies in Europe, Asia and the US for the European market.
-European Approvals
To secure and maintain product approvals with major European Approval Authorities (e.g. VdS, LPCB) for all product ranges manufactured or sold by the group.
Control of approvals projects and expenditure in accordance with business requirements and constraints.
Ensures achievement of post-investment product development payback goals.
-New Product Introduction
To evaluate new product opportunities, and perform cost justification analyses.
Introduction of new product initiatives prioritised based upon financial and strategic benefits.
-Product Consolidation, Rationalisation & Development
To assess the viability of product consolidation, rationalisation and development proposals and co-ordinate to completion.Provides integrated plan for approval, tooling, production, marketing and sale of new product initiatives.
-Customer Product Support
Day to day liaison with the group customers in relation to all approvals issues, including enquiries and future requirements.Provides customer service support to European, Asian and Australian S&D.
-Sales Analysis
Perform sales analysis on a weekly and monthly basis for circulation to the Management Team and perform any additional sales reports as required.
Provides timely management information on historic and forecast demand levels.
-Health & Safety
Responsibility for the progression of the Health & Welfare section of the Company Safety Audit. Includes the introduction of an employee Health Surveillance Scheme and ongoing Workplace Assessments.
Contributes towards the achievement of high standards of Health & Safety in the Workplace.
-Fire Products Global Strategy
Routine interface with Group R&D.
Consistent and co-ordinated approach for Fire Products on a global basis.
