Procurement and Materials Manager required by this Defence company specialising in Marine Radar. The successful candidate will be required to undergo MOD security clearance procedure and all candidates must therefore meet the strict criteria required.
The role will be based in Essex and is commutable from East London, Epping, Brentwood and Rainham.
The role is to maximise on profit and cash generation through management of:
* Procurement and the Inbound Supply Chain * Inventory * To apply proper procedural and ethical controls with respect to Procurement * To apply proper procedural controls with respect to Inventory, the scheduling of production (in line with the Commercial Sales Forecast or the Naval Make-to-Order requirements) and the management of personnel * Operate within the Supply Chain Management Team in implementing business strategies, tactics and policies aimed at improving the overall position of the business particularly with respect to Procurement and the impact of Procurement on Inventory holdings.
Responsibilities:
Setting and controlling purchase prices (both direct and indirect). Maintaining a balanced level of inventory against the Manufacturing Programme, derived from the Commercial Sales Forecast. Meeting the make-to-order requirements of the Naval Business whilst minimising inventory exposure. Applying controls aimed at maintaining the accuracy and appropriate storage of inventory within the business. Personnel development within the Procurement discipline. Decisions made by this jobholder are likely to have short and long-term profitability and cash implications for the Company as well as the company's ability to offer the market continuity of supply. Make recommendations relevant to staff managed: salary, appraisal, promotion, discipline and grievances within the framework provided by HR. The role is primarily required to interface with Production, Production Technical Support and Engineering but may interface with others.
