Description
Procurement Manager required to manage a global supply base for the international defence and Commercial businesses of the company.
MAIN DUTIES
Execute the Procurement and supply chain policy of the company. Develop the outsource manufacturing strategy. Contribute to the increased profitability of the procurement function.Supplier relationship management. Negotiation of cost down contracts for Sub-Suppliers and Sub-Contractors. Preparation of Contracts for Sub-Suppliers and Sub Contractors. Governance of procurement procedures. Further consolidate the European procurement function to take best advantage of available talent and expertise across all Sperry locations. Maintaining an effective supply chain that delivers high quality, on time products to meet customer demands. Introduce process improvement changes. Provide feedback to management of potential critical supply issues. Other internal or external continuous improvement projects, in line with World Class manufacturing concepts.Other Materials Control related activities. To be aware of and comply with Company Standards of Conduct and all relevant statutory requirements. To carry out any other reasonable management request. Extensive travel to meet with existing and new business partners to develop the relationship and co-operation within the supply chain.
Tehnical/Job Specific Skills
Required: Procurement Management experience within an electro-mechanical production and outsourced production environment. Experience of ERP master planning systems (ideally Baan 5.2a).Proven track record in managing and improving on-time-delivery and cost reduction over time.Significant experience of purchasing and supply chain management.
Desirable: Degree in Business or Technical discipline. Holder of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply qualification (or similar).
