Description
Responsibilities
To provide goods & services at the lowest total acquisition cost achieving year-on-year cost reduction targets
New Product & Part Introduction milestone achievement
Commodity management and the contractual management of supplier relationships within the commodity.
Supply Base Reduction & Supply Chain Simplification
Contribute to the development of the Procurement Strategy and associated plans to meet Technology, Delivery, Quality, Cost and Commercial / Transactional requirements in line with the Company Strategy.
To pro-actively communicate and resolve part supply issues, minimising the impact on the supply chain customer
Identify and implement appropriate improvements to the Procurement infrastructure.
Keep others up-to-date with appropriate Procurement methods and procedures
Work done consistent with procedures and work instructions
Ensure the working environment is well organised, clean & tidy 5S culture.
Ensure all appropriate records and documentation are maintained in accordance with set standards.
Ensure Output consistent with Company strategy

Knowledge and/or Experience Required
Essential
Conversant with engineering drawings.
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment (ideally with TS16949 or ISO9000 quality standards).
Microsoft: outlook, excel, word (or equivalent).
Experience of working with an integrated business management system.
Desirable
Purchasing, Cost reduction (Total Acquisition Cost), Negotiation, Contract management experience.
Supplier sourcing and management.
Experience of working in an Automotive Quality environment.
(TS16949, APQP, PPAP, SPC, Capability Studies, Corrective Actions)
Hands on experience of resolving tooling issues (plastic injection mould tools & press tools).
Operating the purchasing element of an integrated business management system: MAPICs.
Qualifications
Essential
BTEC / ONC / HNC / HND / OND in engineering or equivalent
Desirable
Chartered Institute Of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS)
