Large Aerospace company is looking for a Procurement Bid Manager to join their team as Maternity cover up to 1 year in duration.

The role holder will coordinate the procurement activities associated with the bid response, including (but not limited to): project managing the procurement response, consolidating the inbound supply chain's abilities in terms of cost and time scales required, liaising with other key procurement staff.

Key Accountabilities
Develop and implement the Programme Procurement Plans in accordance with the Life Cycle Management guidelines. These Plans will align to the Project Plan and Functional Plans for the programme and will take input from the Procurement Category strategies.

Develop the sourcing strategies for the programme taking input on supplier performance (quality, schedule, through life cost) from the Procurement Category Management team.

Project manage the Procurement Category Management team in the tendering process, including obtaining quotations, identifying risks and mitigation strategies, developing the cost model.
Support the requirements of bid approval and tender vet processes by ensuring that all bids are robust in terms of quality, schedule, through-life cost and risk.

Manage activities in relation to the procurement aspects of capability-based questionnaires and confidence-building measures in support of bids.

Provide functional advice and guidance on contractual issues to facilitate effective business decision-making

On success of a bid, plan, agree and execute staged handover to Procurement Manager and Category Management Team to ensure retention of knowledge. Support Procurement Manager and Procurement Category Manager in joint authorisation of final sourcing decisions.

Knowledge and Experience
Have significant experience of major bids
Have proven skills and extensive experience of managing complex contracting arrangements and programmes.
Have demonstrable project management experience
Be analytical and able to use Microsoft tools
Be a good communicator
Have experience of procurement and supplier relationships
Be able to work under pressure to meet programme milestones and bid dates
Degree level education and/or appropriate professional qualifications
Be prepared to travel as necessary, including overseas.
