Procurement and Materials Manager - East London - to £45000 + package
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement and Materials specialist to lead a team of purchasing professionals. This role will have an instrumental effect on the on going success of the company and so it is expected that applications will be from people with a proven track record gained within a manufacturing environment. They will be experienced in implementing systems and procedures to track materials flow, and driving through cost reductions whilst maintaining quality, and developing relationships with vendors. Responsible for a team of 15 staff within materials, quality and distribution staff.
This will include:
Applying procedural controls with respect to Inventory and production schedules
Examine commercial aspects of production and examine "make or buy "
Implement purchasing and inventory related business strategies and policies aimed at improving the overall position of the business, including taking a lead role in "make or buy" policies

Duties:
Interfacing between production, engineering and technical support regarding new products and changes to existing. From information gained set purchase prices to enable cost effective manufacture
Ensure inventory levels are maintained as satisfactory levels to suit the business needs across all disciplines
Set standards and inventory controls regarding storage of goods
Vendor appraisal and development
At all times be aware that commercial decisions with have a long term impact on the success of the company
Staff: Development, monitoring, salary reviews and general welfare

Experience:
Previous experience in a similar role
Degree level of equivalent
Long term prospects to develop the role to develop the quality aspect of the role
