My London based rail client requires a Procurement Agent to execute Procurement strategies on their behalf, to derive best value for procurement of products/services/works.

My London based rail client requires a Procurement Agent to execute Procurement strategies on their behalf, to derive best value for procurement of products/services/works.
Accountabilities:
Assist in the production of Strategic Sourcing Strategies that ensures best value.
Assist in the implementation and management of Strategic Sourcing strategies and Supplier Agreements that maximise the business benefits within the Engineering Categories.
Undertake and support supplier negotiations and relationship building to obtain best value.
Undertake Procurement activities applying best practice processes, tools and techniques and in accordance with procurement governance, processes, standards and procedures, so as to professionally procure products / services / works.
Assist with the development and management of Supplier Portfolios and establishing of structured Supplier relationships.
Compile Supplier Portfolios and monitor Supplier Market Profiles to support a quick and effective decision making.
Establish and maintain Preferred Supplier Lists, Corporate Contracts and Framework Agreements.
Provide reports and Management Information/Data as required for procurement and/or Corporate purposes.
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
MICE, CEng, MRICS, or CIPS qualified (preferable)
5 plus years post qualification experience in a senior procurement position with a Project background involving multi-disciplinary design and implementation contracts
Relevant degree level education preferable
Good Category and/or strong general procurement background, preferably of Categories with a spend profile in the magnitude of £7.5m plus
Excellent negotiations, communication and inter-personal skills
Must be business focused with a commitment to continuous improvement and positive can-do attitude
Proficiency in the use of IT applications e.g. MS Office
Knowledge of Projects undertaken within a UK railway environment (Network Rail or LUL)
Good team management skills
Detailed working knowledge of various Industry Standard Forms of Contract including the Engineering Construction Contract.
