Our Client a Major OEM are looking for a Procurement & Planning Engineer to take responsibility for planning and scheduling vehicle fitting work, predominantly for blue light emergency services and military/ defence vehicle builds and conversions.
Our Client a Major OEM are looking for a Procurement & Planning Engineer to take responsibility for planning and scheduling vehicle fitting work, predominantly for blue light emergency services and military/ defence vehicle builds and conversions. To create Bills of Material from proposal quotations, place orders and expedite parts. Liaise with storeman to have parts kitted and fed to shop floor. Liaise with Business Development Manager and customers to agree delivery requirements. Act in the role of project manager for small procurement projects to the Client area. Prepare workshop loading schedules in consultation with the workshop supervisor to meet delivery requirements Other duties include: Control of project items kept as stock for use against future projects. Assist Business Development Manager with customer quotationsLiaise with customers re: vehicle movements, and maintain log of all blue light project vehicles. Responding to technical queries from vehicle technicians, customers and suppliers.Person description: Strong planning and scheduling skills, comfortable with workshop environment.Must have a technical background, City and Guilds/ONC/HNC or equivalent electrical and mechanical qualification. Able to read engineering drawings and specifications, electrical wiring diagrams.Ability to get on well with people, negotiate and achieve agreement in situations involving conflicting demands. Experience of vehicle fitting an advantage Demonstrate experience of using Microsoft office products WORD and Excel as a minimum, preferably PowerPoint and Project. Demonstrate experience gained in a technical environment with critical timing, multiple projects and cost awareness.
