Overall Purpose/Objectives of Role
To assemble and test a product by following written/pictorial build procedures

Key duties:
1. To build assemblies in accordance with appropriate procedures
2. To carry out rework and modifications in accordance with relevant IPC standards
3. To compile test reports and other relevant documentation
4. To conduct basic test routines at sub-assembly and GA levels
5. To carry out finishing operations prior to shipment to customer
6. To maintain input to business information systems as appropriate

Able to follow written procedures to test a product at general assembly and sub-assembly levels
Sound knowledge of electro-mechanical practices, gained from hands-on experience
Able to read and interpret technical data (drawings and technical publications)
Experience of SMT manufacturing, able to identify different component types, values and correct orientation.

Good level of manual dexterity
Computer literate
Good team player
Good communication skills (written & verbal)
Methodical and analytical approach to work
Safety orientated
Desirable
Familiar with Excel and Word

Qualifications and Experience
Knowledge and experience gained from a minimum of two years in a similar production role
A valid IPC accreditation

Prepared to work additional hours as required to meet business needs
Flexible in respect of hours of work
Able to distinguish between colours Current driving licence

Key skills & experience: Must have soldering, SMT and assembly experience

We are looking for an electronics technician to assemble and test a range of avionics equipment.

Your main duties will include:
Build assemblies in accordance with appropriate procedures
Carry out rework and modifications
Compile test reports and other relevant documentation
Conduct basic test routines at sub-assembly and GA levels
Carry out finishing operations prior to shipment to customer
Maintain input to business information systems as appropriate

Applicants must have the following skills
Ability to follow written procedures to test a product at general assembly and sub-assembly levels
Sound knowledge of electro-mechanical practices, gained from hands-on experience
Able to read and interpret technical data (drawings and technical publications)
Experience of SMT manufacturing, able to identify different component types, values and correct orientation.

Salary £19,828 and rises to £20,328 after 6 month probation
