A Process Engineer, with a strong Quality focus, is sought to join an excellent Manufacturer based in Farlington, Portsmouth. The company produce a wide variety of bespoke electro-mechanical products, and would like to recruit someone to help improve processes and introduce better Quality practices. You will also advise and oversee a critical transition from manual processes to full automation.
You will be based in the Engineering department, working closely with the Design and Production teams. You will look at both new and existing products, and find ways to improve manufacturing processes and maximise efficiency. You'll need to be fairly analytical, and a good communicator who can explain ideas to the Engineers, and why changes will benefit the overall process, and increase Quality.
The role reports into the Quality Assurance Manager, but the job function is not purely Quality focused. You'll need to validate new processes introduced on the shop floor, and also oversee the installation of new machinery, which will hopefully improve overall productivity. Some of the key issues centre on changes to the existing assembly processes. This includes the planned transition from manual/semi-automatic processes to automation.
Further responsibilities are likely to include developing process monitoring tools, and the development of effective control procedures to maintain product quality standards. The role would ideally, but not essentially, suit someone with a Mechanical Engineering background, who has experience in Process monitoring / evaluation or Quality Engineering.
Role based in Farlington, Portsmouth, easily reached by the M27. Paying £22-25k + excellent benefits including an early finish on Fridays. Please forward your CV to darren@astutetechnical.co.uk
